Video: Russel Norman questions PM John Key in parliamentary sitting
This video published on inthehouse.co.nz shows the controversial discussion and questioning in parliament this week which has sparked outrage in social media and local bodies.
The video shows a line of questioning by Green Party Co-Leader Russel Norman in regard to the oil exploration approved in the Marine Mammalian Reserve which is known to be a habitat for the Maui’s Dolphin.
PM John Key’s now infamous line of claiming the Green Party’s questioning is based on ‘mumbo-jumbo’ has added to the idea that the National Party easily dismiss science and facts delivered to them by huge scientific bodies including the International Whaling Committee made up of over 200 scientists.
Popular comments on the video centre around the PM being called to order 3 times in a row, and his inability to acknowledge the question and rather insult the basis of the questions asked by Dr Norman.
